MAIL RULES TO HELP CONTROL SPAM

If you are using OUTLOOK EXPRESS, These 3 rules should really help.

Be very careful to enter everything correctly!
If you don't, some desired e-mail could wind
up in your Deleted Items folder!

In Outlook Express go to:
TOOLS - MESSAGE RULES - MAIL
You are ready to enter the First Rule.

This Rule's name will be "From Line Contains No @"
Click on 'New'
1: Choose: Where the From line contains people.
2: Choose: Delete it from the server.
3: Click on: Contains people
Now type: @ (Just the @ Character Nothing Else) Click The Add button.
Click Options.
Choose Message does not contain the people below.
Click OK. Click OK Again
It will now read:
Apply this rule after the Message arrives
Where the From line does not contain '@'
Delete it from the server
Click OK.
4: Name this rule: 'From Line Contains No @'
Click OK.
The first rule is now entered.  Be Sure the box next to it is Checked to turn it on.

The Next Rule's Name is "To or CC Line Contains No @"
Click 'New'
1: Choose: Where the To or Cc: line contains people.
2: Choose: Delete it from the server.
3: Click on: contains people
Now type: @ (Just The @ Character Nothing Else) Click the Add button.
Click Options.
Choose Message does not contain the people below.
Click OK. Click OK button again.
It will now read: Apply this rule after Message Arrives
Where the To or CC line does not Contain '@'
Delete it From the Server
Click OK.
4: Name this rule: 'To or CC Line Contains No @'
Click Ok.
The second rule is now entered.  Be sure that the box next to it is checked to turn it on.

The Next Rule's name is "Not to Correct Address."
Click 'New'
1: Choose: Where the To: or CC: line contains people
2: Choose: Move it to the specified folder
3: Click on: 'specified' and select Deleted Items.
Click on OK
4: Click on: 'contains people' Type in all of your e-mail addresses. Click Add button after each one.
Click Options.
Choose The Message does not contain the people below.
Also Choose Message matches any one of the people below.
(This means that the message must be addressed ONLY to the e-mail addresses that you have entered)
Click OK. Click OK Again.
5:Name this rule: 'Not to Correct Address.'
Click Ok.
Now says: Apply this rule after the message arrives
Where the To or CC line Does not Contain (E-Mail Addresses)
Move it to The Deleted Items Folder
The third rule is now entered.  Be sure that the box next to it is checked to turn it on.

Be very careful to enter everything correctly!
If you don't, some desired e-mail could wind
up in your Deleted Items folder!

Your Spam should be much reduced but you still receive all the messages that you should.
